Calvin Mayo was born on 18 October 1778 at Warwick, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Benjamin Mayo and Dorothy Goddard.1 Calvin Mayo was christened on 6 January 1779 at Athol, Massachusetts.1
Calvin Mayo married Sally Ward, daughter of Edward Ward and Dorothy Twichell, in 1799 at Orange, Massachusetts.
He was a farmer.1 He was elected a Selectman for Orange, Massachusetts.2 He was a member of the church council, which installed the Rev. Joshua Chandler, a Unitarian, as minister of the North Orange Church. The meeting was held in Calvin's home in North Orange on 28 November 1822.2 Calvin Mayo died on 6 November 1845 at Orange, Massachusetts, at age 67.1 He was buried at North Orange Cemetery, Orange, Massachusetts. Calvin's epitaph reads:
