François Girouard dit Menu was born circa 1710 at Baie Verte, Acadia, New France.1 He was the son of Germain Girouard and Jeanne Barrieau.1
François married first on 25 January 1735 at Beaubassin, Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America, Marie Poirier, the daughter of Michel Poirier and Jeanne Bourgeois. She was born about 11 December 17198, and died before November 1762.
