     François Haché was born in 1778 at Caraquet, Colony of Nova Scotia (now New Brunswick), British North America.1,2 He was the son of René Haché dit Gallant and Margarete Blanchard.

François Haché married Nathalie Thibodeau, daughter of Pierre Thibodeau and Anne-Marie Landry, between 1798 and 1800.1,3,2 François was a master carpenter of ships, and along with his brothers, were considered the best in Caraquet. His expertise was know even in Québec, In 1828, he built the Féliz Souligny for Alexis Painchaud, and in 1842, built the brig, Malvina, for Joshua Alexander. He was one of the main workers on the church built by monseigneur Cooke near his home. In 1837, he constructed, with his son, André, the first church in Lamèque.1 François Haché died in 1845 at Caraquet, New Brunswick, Canada.1,2
