     George Woodward was born on 11 September 1660 at Watertown, Massachusetts.1,2,3,4 He was the son of George Woodward and Elizabeth Hammond c 1633/34.1 During King Philip's War, he was credited with 7 shillings, 8 pence for service under Capt. John Cutler, 24 July 1676.

George Woodward, age 25, married Lydia Brown, age 22 , daughter of Abraham Brown and Mary Dix, on 24 July 1686.

Bond (1860) lists their marriage date as 31 December 1686.
