John T. Keating
     John Thomas Keating was born on 18 June 1884 at Lochaber, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia, Canada.3,4,5,6 He was the son of James Willia Keating and Honora Onnie Sears.2 John Thomas Keating was christened on 27 June 1884 in the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia, Canada.7 John, age 16 years, appeared on the Canadian Census of 1901 at Antigonish, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia, Canada, at a Catholic boarding school.8

John Thomas Keating, age 23, married Bridget Agnes Sullivan, age 28 , daughter of John J. Sullivan Sullivan J.P., K.P.M and Annie Ellen Donaghue, on 31 December 1907 at the St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.

John, age 26 years, and Bridget Keating, age 31 years appeared on the Canadian Census of 1911 at Lochaber, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia, Canada.3 According to the Canadian Census in 1911, John was a salesman.3 John immigrated to the United States, arriving at Vanceboro, Washington County, Maine, on 14 May 1919. He declared his intent to become a US citizen 22 September 1919.6 According to the Federal Census in 1930, John was a superintendent in the construction industry.9 John Keating appeared as Head of Household with Bridget, his wife, on the United States Census of 1930 at 114 South Poplar Avenue, Merchantville, Camden County, New Jersey.9 John Keating appeared as Head of Household with Bridget, his wife, on the United States Census of 1940 at 918 Cooper Street, Camden, Camden County, New Jersey.10 According to the Federal Census in 1940, John was a building foreman for a building contractor.10 On in 1942, John registered for the World War II draft, while living at 323 North 37th Street, Camden, Camden County, New Jersey. He gave his age as 57, and his employer as the New York Ship Building Corporation.5 He died on 2 July 1949 at Dixie Hospital, Hampton, Elizabeth City County, Virginia, at age 65 from multiple fractures of body from falling 40 feet off a building.4,11 John's obituary of 5 July 1949, reads:

Requiem high Mass for John T. Keating, 65, will be celebrated tomorrow at 9 a. m. in St. Rose of Lima R. C. Church, Haddon Heights. Relatives and friends will meet at 8 a.m. in the funeral home of John A. Healey, 9 White Horse pike, Haddon Heights, where friends may call tonight. Burial will be in New St. Mary's cemetery, Bellmawr.

Mr. Keating, a former resident of Camden, died in Hampton, Saturday from injuries suffered in a 50-foot. fall on a construction job which he was supervising. He was born in Nova Scotia.

Surviving are his widow, Bridget, James A; Butler, daughters, Redland, Calif; John Bigley, Audubon; Mrs. Howard Hamell, Decatur, Ga; Mrs. Lillian Lowry, Washington, D. C; Mrs. Warren Miles, Magnolia; Mrs. Jan Beijer and Mrs. Charles Knight, both Camden; a son, Maurice, Audubon; three brothers; four sisters, and 15 grandchildren.
