Howard Alfred Fellenbaum was born on 15 February 1895 at Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of William R. Fellenbaum and Isabella Jane Coughenour. Howard, age 16, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at Center Street, North Braddock, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, William R. and Isabella Jane Fellenbaum.6 On 5 June 1917, Howard registered for the World War I draft, while living at 710 Middle Street, North Braddock, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, giving his age as 23 and his employer as the Burroughs Adding Machine Company.3
Howard, age 25, appeared on the US Census of 1920 living at Middle Street, North Braddock, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, William R. and Isabella Jane Fellenbaum. He was an apprentice in a machine shop.7
Howard Alfred Fellenbaum married Alice Kathleen Loew, daughter of John Albert Loew and CatherineA. Boyle. Howard, age 44 years, and Alice, age 35 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 on 7335 Schoyer Avenue, Swissvale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.8 On in 1942, Howard registered for the World War II draft, while living at 7333 Schayer Avenue, Swissvale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, giving his age as 48 and his employer as the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.4
Howard, age 54 years, and Alice Loew, age 45 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 at Straban Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania.9 According to the Federal Census in 1950, Howard was a machine hand.9 He died on 13 August 1962 at Annie M. Warner Hospital, Straban Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, at age 67 from a vascular tumor of the brain.1,2,10

Howard A. Fellenbaum, 67, Lincoln Highway East, Gettysburg, died Monday at 4:40 p.m. at the Annie Warner Hospital. A native of Lebanon and a son of the late William and Isabel Coughenour Fellenbaum, he had resided Pittsburgh before coming to Adams County about 17 years ago. was a bookkeeper at the Gulden Lumber Company, Aspers. His only survivor is a sister, Mrs. Caroline Peterson, Spruce Creek, Pa. His wife, the former Alice Loew, died in 1958. Funeral services will be held tomorrow 2:30 p.m. at the Bender funeral home, Gettysburg. Friends may call at the funeral home t this evening from: 7 to 9 p.m.
