     Norman William Burnett was born on 30 May 1903 at Bangor, Maine.1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of Francis William Burnett and Vera May Lord. Norman, age 6, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at West Street, Stafford, Connecticut,in the household of his parents, Francis William and Vera May Burnett.6 Norman, age 36 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 at Richmond County, Georgia, living with his brother, Raymond.7

Norman William Burnett married Rena Belva Hagerdon, daughter of Frederick Joseph Hagerdon and Lois C. Warner, in 1941.

Norman registered for the draft giving his age as 38 and his employer as the American Locomotive Company. on 16 February 1942 at RFD Silvery Creek, Sheridan, Chautauqua County, New York.7 Norman, age 46 years, and Rena, age 33 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 on 1950 US Census, he was recorded as age 46, living at, Dayton, Cattaraugus County, New York.8 According to the Federal Census in 1950, Norman worked for the Pennsylvania RailRoad.8 Norman and Rena were divorced before 1956.

Norman William Burnett, age 52, married Dorothy Verda Nims, age 39 , daughter of William Guy Nims and Evelyn Goodwin, on 27 January 1956 at Wytheville, Wythe County, Virginia. They had no children together.5 Norman William Burnett retired in 1962 from the Pennsylvania Central Railroad.9 He died on 16 November 1980 at Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, at age 77.2,9 Norman's obituary of 18 November 1980, reads:

BURNETT - Norman W. Burnett, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, passed away in a local hospital Sunday. He is survived by; his wife, Dorothy V. Burnett, Albuquerque; five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Penny, St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Charlotte Mortiz, Speingville, N.Y., Miss Fanny R. Burnett, Miss Joan Burnett and Miss Norena Burnett, all of Buffalo, N.Y.: one stepdaughter, Cindy Rienhardt, Albuquerque; one son, Norman W. Burnett, Buffalo, N.Y; two stepsons, Dennis Hatch, Santa Fe, N.M., and Thomas Moore, Erie, Pa., two sisters, Betty, Staton Island, N.Y... and Gladys Crabtree, Glenhaven, Fla; one brother, Raymond Burnett, Agusta, Ga; 25 grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. He was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Cathedral. He retired from the Pennsylvania Central Railroad in 1962 and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, with the Rev. Sylvester Vaughan officiating. Strong, Thorne, 1100 Coal SE, is in charge of arrangements. The family requests no flowers; memorials may be made to the St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, 318 Silver SW, 87102.
