Francis William Burnett

     Francis William Burnett was born in June 1860 at St. Albans, Vermont. His death certificate lists his birth as about 1883 in High Gates, Vermont.^1,2,3 He was the son of Frank William Burnett and Calista Ann Prentiss. Francis William Burnett went by the nick-name of Frank. Frank's father was full blooded Mohawk and that his wife was full blooded French according to family tradition.¹ Heappeared on the US Census of 1870 in the household of Frank William Burnett and Calista Ann Prentiss at St. Albans, Vermont.⁴

Francis William Burnett married Vera May Lord, daughter of Herbert Samuel Lord and Sarah Melissa Mayhew, in 1899.^1,2,5 Francis, age 39 years, and Vera, age 17 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at 258 North Hampton Street Block L, Holyoke, Massachusetts.² Francis, age 49 years, and Vera, age 27 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at Stafford, Connecticut.⁶ According to the Federal Census in 1910, Francis was a traveling salesman.⁶ Francis and Vera were divorced in 1919.¹ Francis, age 69 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 at 1061 Glass Factory Street, Augusta, Georgia. He was a widower.⁷ Francis was a specialist in herbs in 1930.⁷ He died on 17 August 1938 at Augusta, Georgia, at age 78.^1,8,3,9
