     Ernest Freeman Drillen was born on 25 December 1878 at Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.2,1,3,4,5,6 He was the son of Henry Drillen and Mary Jane Bailey.1 Ernest Freeman Drillen, age 27 years, appeared on the Canadian Census of 1881 in the household of Henry Drillen and Mary Jane Bailey at Douglas Parish, New Brunswick, Canada.7 Ernest Freeman Drillen, age 37 years, appeared on the Canadian Census of 1891 in the household of Henry Drillen and Mary Jane Bailey at Douglas Parish, New Brunswick, Canada.8 Ernest Freeman Drillen, age 47 years, appeared on the Canadian Census of 1901 in the household of Henry Drillen and Mary Jane Bailey at Douglas Parish, New Brunswick, Canada.9 Ernest Freeman Drillen immigrated in 1910 to United States According to the 1930 US Census, he immigrated in 1910, yet he is listed on the 1911 Canadian Census.10,11 He, age 63 years, appeared on the Canadian Census of 1911 in the household of Mary Jane Bailey at Saint Marys Parish, New Brunswick, Canada.10

Ernest registered for the draft giving his age as 40, his address as the St. James Hotel, Bangor, Maine, and his job as a river driver for the American Realty Company on 12 September 1918.6 Ernest lived in 1920 at Biddeford, Maine.12

Ernest Freeman Drillen, age 43, married Vera May Lord, age 40 , daughter of Herbert Samuel Lord and Sarah Melissa Mayhew, on 7 August 1922.2,1,13 Ernest, age 51 years, and Vera, age 47 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 at 322 Broadway, Bangor, Maine.11 Ernest, age 61 years, and Vera, age 57 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 at 39 South Park Street, Bangor, Maine.14 According to the census in 1940, Ernest was a foreman.14 He died on 30 March 1965 at the Hampshire County Sanatorium, Northampton, Massachusetts, at age 86.2,1,3,4,5 Ernest's obituary of 31 March 1965, reads:
