Daniel Scully was christened in August 1831 at Dromtaniff Parish, County Cork, Ireland.2,3,4,5,1 He was the son of William Scully and Julia Keleher.1 Daniel Scully immigrated on 15 January 1850 arriving at New York City, New York, on board the SS Sarah out of Fagal.3,6 Danielmoved to Albany, Albany County, New York, circa December 1856.4,5
Daniel Scully married Ellen McCormick in 1859.4,5,7,2 Daniel, age 28 years, and Ellen, age 22 years, appeared on the US Census of 1860 at Greenbush, Rensselaer County, New York. Living with the Doiran family.8 Daniel was a labourer in 1860.8 Daniel and Ellenmoved to Canada circa 1861.4,5 Daniel and Rowlandmoved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, circa 1867.4,5 Daniel, age 38 years, and Ellen, age 32 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Temperanceville (now West End Villiage), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.9 According to the Federal Census in 1870, Daniel was a laborer.9 He died on 17 August 1902 at home on Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from pneumonia.4,5,10 Daniel's obituary of 18 August 1902, reads:
Daniel Scully, one of the oldest and best known residents of the West End, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph T. Sauls, in McKeesport, on Saturday evening at 6 o'clock. Pneu monia was the disease which put an end to his life. He is survived by the fol lowing children: Paul Scully, Mrs. Joseph T. Sauls and John V. O'Donnell.10
He was buried on 19 August 1902 at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.5
