Margaret Green

     Margaret Green was born on 3 March 1839 at Doneraile, County Cork, Ireland.^1,2,3,4 She was the daughter of Edmund Green and Bridget Mannix. Margaret and Johnmoved to England between 1854 and 1855.⁴

Margaret Green, age 14, married John Reardon, age 28 , son of Patrick Reardon and Elizabeth Hennessy, on 15 February 1854 at Fornaught, Donoughmore, County Cork, Ireland.^1,4 In late 1870, or early 1871, John was hurt while working and the family moved to Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, Wales where he and Margaret resided until their deaths. They lived among many other Irish immigrants and attended St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church where five of their children were baptized.⁴ Margaret, age 31 years, appeared on the Wales Census of 1871 at Cardiff Union Workhouse, Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales.^5,4 Margaret and John, appeared on the Wales Census of 1881 on 11 Court Street, Lower Merthyr Tydfi, Merthyr Tydfil, Breconshire, Glamorganshire, Wales.⁶ Margaret, age 51 years, and John, age 65 years , appeared on the Wales Census of 1891 at Lower Merthyr Tydfi, Merthyr Tydfil, Breconshire, Glamorganshire, Wales.⁷ Margaret Green died on 10 November 1907 at Merthyr Tydfil, Breconshire, Glamorganshire, Wales, at age 68.
