Hildegarde of Burgundy
     Hildegarde of Burgundy , Duchess consort of Gascony and Aquitaine was born circa 1056.1 She was the daughter of Robert III the Old ~ Duc de Bourgogne et Prince de France and Eleanor of Semur-en-Auxois.

Hildegarde of Burgundy , Duchess consort of Gascony and Aquitaine married William VI , Count of Poitou, son of William III the Great ~ Comte de Poitou and Agnes of Burgundy , Princess of Lombardy, in 1068. When their first child, William, was born the Church at first considered him illegitimate because of his parents’ consanguinity. This obliged his father to make a pilgrimage to Rome soon after his birth to seek papal approval of his marriage to Hildegarde.2,3,1 Hildegarde of Burgundy , Duchess consort of Gascony and Aquitaine died in 1104.2,3,1
