     Thomas I of Savoy , Count of Savoy was born on 20 May 1177 at Carbonierres, Savoy (now Piedmont), Italy.1,2 He was the son of Humbert III the Saint , Count of Savoy and Marquis of Italy and Beatrix of Mâcon.

Thomas I of Savoy , Count of Savoy married Margaret of Geneva, daughter of William I of Geneva ~ Count of Geneva and Beatrice of Faucigny, in May 1196.1,2 Thomas I of Savoy , Count of Savoy died on 1 March 1233 at Aosta, Piedmont, Italy, at age 55.1,2 He was buried at Sacra di San Michele, Sant'Ambrogio di Torino, Piedmont, Italy.1
