Godrey III , Duke of Brabant and of Lower Lorraine was born in 1142 at Leuven, Brabant, France, now Belgium.1,2 He was the son of Godfrey II , Duke of Brabant and of Lower Lorraine and Luitgarde von Saltzbach. Godrey succeeded his father as the Duke of Brabant in 1143.1
