Frederick I Barbarossa
     Frederick I Barbarossa , Holy Roman Emperor was born in 1122.1,2,3 He was the son of Frederick II von Hohenstauffen , Duke of Swabia and Judith of Bavaria. Frederick I Barbarossa , Holy Roman Emperor was also known as Frederick III Duke of Alsace and Swabia.2 Frederick was crowned he Holy Roman Emperor. Later on 9 March 1158, he was crowned the King of Germany as Frederick III on 8 June 1155.2

Frederick I Barbarossa , Holy Roman Emperor married Beatrice of Burgundy, daughter of Renaud III Count of Mâcon and Burgundy and Agatha of Alsace, between 10 June 1156 and 16 June 1156.4,1,2,3,5 In 1189, he took up the cross, and joined the Third Crusade.1 Frederick I Barbarossa , Holy Roman Emperor drowned on 10 June 1190 at Saleph River (now the Göksu River), Cilicia, while traveling through what is now Turkey on his way to the Holy Land on the Third Crusade.1,2,3,5 He was buried at Tyre, Holy Land.1
