Isaac II Angelos , Emperor of the East was born in 1156.1,2 He was the son of Andronikos Angelos Doukas , Ambassador to Jerusalem and Euphrosyne Kastamonitissa. Isaac's name was also spelt Isaakios II Angelos.1
Isaac II Angelos , Emperor of the East married Eirene Komnena, daughter of Demetrios Tornikes , Logothete of the Dome and sister of Euthymios Malakes.1 Isaac was crowned Basilius, that is the Emperor of the East. He was deposed in 1195. In 1203, he was returned to the throne in 1185.1,2
