Raymond Anthony Roy was born in October 1893 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York.1 He was the son of Joseph Roy and Evangalina Manny. Raymond, age 6, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at 20 Mansion Street, Glenville, Cuyahoga County, Ohio,in the household of his parents, Joseph and Eva Roy.1 Raymond, age 16 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York, rooming with the Hetzel family.2 Raymond was a laborer in a piano factory in 1910.2 Raymond enlisted in Rochester, on 23 June 1916, for the Mexican Punitive Campaign as a private. He was sent to Camp Whitman, New York,3rd Infantry, Company G, but was soon honorably discharged on 12 July 1916.
Raymond, age 26 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York, as a border at the Proctor boarding house. He was listed as married.3 Raymond was a machinist in a machine shop in 1920.3 Raymond, age 36 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York, as a lodger in the Phelps home. He was listed as married.4 Raymond was a watchman at an office building in 1930.4

Marriage: On two censuses he is found as a lodger and listed as married. My conjecture is that he returned to Canada, married, and worked in the US while supporting his family in Québec. I have no proof.
