Marie-Magdelaine Thibodeau

     Marie-Magdelaine Thibodeau was born on 23 December 1703 at Port-Royal, Acadia.1 She was the daughter of Jean Thibodeau and Marguerite Hébert.1 Marie-Magdelaine Thibodeau was christened on 18 March 1704 at Port-Royal, Acadia, Her godparents were François du Vivier, captain of a company and ensign of a vessel and Jeanne de Goutin.1

Marie-Magdelaine Thibodeau married Alexandre Richard, son of Martin Richard and Marguerite Bourg, in 1724 at Saint-Joseph, Rivière-aux-Canards, Acadia.1

Marie-Magdelaine and Alexandremoved to Île Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward's Island) in 1741 with their family.1 In the 1752 Census, Marie-Magdelaine was recorded living in Malpèque, Île Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward's Island), New France.1 Alexander's family escaped the deportation of Acadians from Ile of St. Jean in 1758 and 1759, probably by hiding in the woods.1
