Claire LeBlanc was born on 1 June 1710 at St-Charles-des-Mines Parish, Grand-Pré, Acadia, New France.1,2 She was the daughter of André LeBlanc and Marie Dugas. Claire LeBlanc was christened on 3 June 1710 at St-Charles-des-Mines Parish, Grand-Pré, Acadia, New France, Her godparents were Joseph Dugas and Marie Landry.2
Claire LeBlanc, age 15, married Joseph Robichaud, son of Charles Robichaud dit Cadet and Marie-Claire Bourg, on 30 April 1726 at St-Charles-des-Mines Parish, Grand-Pré, Colony of Nova Scotia.1,3,2
Claire and Josephmoved. Joseph and Claire settled in the region of Cobequid (near Truro) at Village des Cadet after their marriage.4 The family was deported from Isle Saint-Jean to France in 1758. "They settled in the tiny village of Pleudihen on the outskirts of Saint-Servan and, like other Acadian families, were supported for some years by the French government. But they had difficulty adapting to their new life and dreamed of returning home."2,4 Claire LeBlanc and Joseph Robichaud were found on a passenger list in 1759 at Saint-Malo, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France.3,4 In the 1772 Census, Claire was recorded living in Saint-Malo, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France.2
