     Otto von Wittlesbach V ~ Duke of Bavaria was born circa 1117.1 He was the son of Otto von Wittlesbach IV ~ Count of Wittlesbach and Pfalzgrave of Bavaira and Heilike von Pettendorf. Otto became, in 1158, the Pfazgrave of Bavaria.1 In 1159, Duke Otto went on the Third Crusade with the Emperor, Frederick Barbarosa, as the Imperial Standard Bearer.1

Otto von Wittlesbach V ~ Duke of Bavaria married Agnes von Loos, daughter of Louis I ~ Count of Loos and Rieneck and Agnes von Metz, between 1159 and 1167.1 He fought in the Italian Wars, was made Ambassador to Constantinople, and was present in Venice at the when the Pope and Emperor Frederick Barbarosa made peace in 1177.1 Otto was created, in 1180, the Duke of Bavaria after the fall of Henry the Lion.1 He died on 1 July 1183 at Pettendorf, Oberpfalz, Bavaria, Germany.1 He was buried at Scheyern, Oberbayern, Bavaria, Germany.1
