     Captain Robert Gladwin Roy was born on 5 October 1919 at Cleveland, Ohio.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 He was the son of Leo Joseph Roy and Gladys C. Gladwin. Captain Robert Gladwin Roy went by the nick-name of Bob. Heappeared on the US Census of 1920 in the household of Leo Joseph Roy and Gladys C. Gladwin at E 102nd Street, Cleveland, Ohio.9 Captain Robert Gladwin Roy was christened on 11 June 1922 at Akron Universalist Church, Akron, Ohio.10 Heappeared on the US Census of 1930 in the household of Leo Joseph Roy and Gladys C. He was employed by the Huron Road Hospital on 16 October 1940 at Cleveland, Ohio.8 He joined the U.S. Army Medical Corps on 17 February 1941.14,15,16 It was at Fort Devens in 1941, that then Sgt. Roy kept the PX lunch counter open late so that Shirley Woodman could get lunch. From their they started dating.15

Captain Robert Gladwin Roy, age 22, married Shirley Frances Woodman, age 24 , daughter of Harry Lincoln Woodman and Ruth Esther Ward, on 3 May 1942 at Lowell, Massachusetts.17,18,19,20 Bob and Shirley lived from June 1942 to 1945 at New Estate Road, Littleton, Massachusetts.17 Bob was discharged from the Army on 16 December 1945.14 Bob and Shirley lived from 1946 to 1948 at 34 Deshon Manner, Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania.15 Bob and Shirley lived in 1949 at Liberty Street, West Alexander, Washington County, Pennsylvania.15 Having joined the National Guard, he was called up with the 28th Division in 1950 during of the Korean War.14 Bob stationed in 1951 at Camp Atterbury, Bartholomew County, Indiana.15 Bob and Shirley lived from 1952 to 1953 at 77 Schiller Stß, Göeppingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.15 Bob and Shirley lived from 1953 to 1954 at Argonnen Stß, Bad Canstatt, Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.15 Captain Robert Gladwin Roy and Shirley Frances Woodman were found on a passenger list on 21 October 1954; Lt.
