     Hugh Capet ~ King of the Franks was born late in 941.1,2 He was the son of Hugh Magnus the White ~ Duke of France and Normandy and Hedwig of Saxony. Hugh was also the Count of Paris, Poitou and Orleans.1,3 Hugh became, in 956, the Count of Paris.1,3

Hugh Capet ~ King of the Franks married Adelainde of Poitou, daughter of William I Tete d'Etoupe , Count of Poitou and Gerloc of Normandy, between 963 and 968.1,3,2,4 Hugh was crowned the first Capetian King of France in 987.1,3 He died on 24 October 996 at Paris, Île-de-France, France.1,3,4 He was buried at Basilica of Saint-Denis, Saint-Denis, Seine-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, France.1
