Thankful Sawyer was born in 1715.1 She was the daughter of Elias Sawyer and Beatrix Pope. Thankful Sawyer was christened on 24 March 1716/17 at Bolton, Massachusetts.1
Thankful Sawyer married Nathaniel Carter, son of Samuel Carter and Dorothy Wilder, on 9 February 1731/32 at Lancaster, Massachusetts.2,1 Thankful Sawyer died on 5 December 1755 at Leominster, Massachusetts.1 She was buried at Pine Grove Cemetery, Leominster, Massachusetts. Thankful's epitaph reads:
