     Elias Carter was born on 24 November 1737 at Leominster, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Nathaniel Carter and Thankful Sawyer. Elias served in Samuel Willard's company, Col. John Whitcomb's regiment in the Crown Point Expedition in 1755.1

Elias Carter, age 22, married Deborah White, age 20 , daughter of Josiah White and Deborah House, on 15 November 1760 at Lunenburg, Massachusetts.1,2,3 Elias and Deborahmoved to Buckland, Massachusetts, in 1774.1 He served in the Revolutionary War. His son, Elijah accompanied him.1 Elias Carter died on 21 December 1821 at Buckland, Massachusetts, at age 84.1
