William Roberts Nusser was born on 9 October 1898 at 45 Hodgson Avenue, Ingram, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 He was the son of Ernest Wilhelm Nusser and Elizabeth Yeager. William Roberts Nusser went by the nick-name of Bill. Bill, age 1, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at Hodgson Street, Chartiers, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Ernest Wilhelm and Elizabeth Nusser.4 Bill, age 12, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at Hodgson Street, Ingram, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Ernest Wilhelm and Elizabeth Nusser.9 He enlisted in the Army on 20 June 1918. He went overseas on 9 August 1918, and served over there in Base Hospital 51 until 2 June 1919. He was honorably discharged 12 June 1919 at Camp Dix, New Jersey.3,5,6 Bill, age 21, appeared on the US Census of 1920 living at 45 Hodgson Street, Ingram, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his widowed mother, Elizabeth Nusser. He was a clerk in a steel factory.10
William Roberts Nusser married Lauretta Sahr, daughter of Albert M. Sahr and Margaret Elizabeth Merdian, in 1928.

He was a cost clerk in a lumber company; She was a widow.12 Bill, age 41 years, and Letty, age 37 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 on 90 Crafton Avenue, Crafton, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.13 According to the Federal Census in 1940, Bill was a salesman.13 On on 16 February 1942, William registered for the World War II draft, while living at 90 Crafton Avenue, Crafton, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, giving his age as 42 and his employer as the Keystone Lumber Company.7
He died on 18 April 1947 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at age 48 from a fractured skull following an auto collision.1,2,6,14,8
