     Ebenezer Hill was born on 9 December 1766 at Bridgewater, Massachusetts.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Israel Hill and Beriah Latham.

Ebenezer Hill married Polly Gaveg in 1798.5 Ebenezer, age 53, appeared on the US Census of 7 August 1820 at Barre, Vermont. The enumeration reads:

2 - Free White Persons - Males - 16 thru 25
1 - Free White Persons - Males - 45 and over
1 - Free White Persons - Females - Under 10

Compeller's Notes:
The Ancestry Family Trees give his death as after 1850 in Orange, Vermont. This is based on an appearance of an Ebenezer Hill in the 1850 Census for Orange. Looking at the names in that record, I do not think that Ebenezer is the same as Ebenezer, the son of Israel.

Polly is often a nickname for Mary. A Rev. Ebenezer Hill married a Polly Boynton in Townsend, Massachusetts. Fortunately, one of his grandsons wrote a genealogy of the family, and this marriage was not our Ebenezer.
