     Deacon George Bixby was born on 31 January 1692 at Topsfield, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Benjamin Bixby and Mary Kimball. Deacon George Bixby was christened on 7 February 1691/92 at Topsfield, Massachusetts.1,2

Deacon George Bixby, age 26, married Mary Bailey, age 29 , daughter of Joseph Bailey and Priscilla Putnam, on 6 August 1718.1,3,2,4 George and Marymoved to Topsfield, Massachusetts, circa 1731.1 After moving to Topsfield, he joined the church there and was later chosen to be a Deacon.1 In 1738 he was one of the trustees appointed by the town to take title to land deeded to the town by Jacob Reddington for a site for the new schoolhoe.1 On the 4 May, 1751, he deeded to his son Daniel 37 acres of land and one-half his dwelling house, and other buildings, on the road from the River bridge to Middleton. On the same day he granted to son Benjamin, as his share of his estate, one half of 57 acres, conveyed to him by Jacob Reddington, with the buildings thereon, except the schoolhoue.1

Deacon George Bixby, age 77, married Sarah Goodhue, age 56 , daughter of John Goodhue and Sarah Sherwin, on 25 May 1769 at Topsfield, Massachusetts.1,5,6,2,7 George wrote his will on 8 May 1780 at Topsfield, Massachusetts.1,8 He died on 3 May 1783 at Topsfield, Massachusetts, at age 91.1,5,2 His estate was inventoried and valued at £588 19/.1,8 His will was proved on 3 June 1783 at Essex County, Massachusetts.1,8,9
