Karl Rudolph Schultz

     Karl Rudolph Schultz was born on 8 September 1828 at Meissen, Saxony, Germany.^1,2 He was the son of Karl Rudolph Schultze and Sophia Wilhelmena Süssekind. Karl Rudolph Schultz was also known as Charles R. Schultz after immigration.³

Karl Rudolph Schultz married Gertrude Mary Geyerstanger, daughter of Matthias Geyerstanger and Maria Seidenadler von Radstadt, in 1857.² Karl Rudolph Schultz, age 31 years, appeared as head of household on the census of 1860 at Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.⁴ Karl registered for the draft in 1863 at Derry, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.⁵ Karl, age 41 years, and Gertrude, age 42 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.¹ Karl, age 51 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 on Main Street, Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.⁶ According to the Federal Census in 1880, Karl was a grocery store owner and a widower.⁶ Karl wrote his will on 27 July 1898 at Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.⁷ He died on 7 October 1898 at Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at age 70.³ He was buried at Saint Marys Cemetery, Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.³
