Gertrude Mary Geyerstanger was born on 2 July 1827 at Riedenburg, Saltzburg, Austria.2,1 She was christened on 3 July 1827 at Saltzburg, Austria.1 She was the daughter of Matthias Geyerstanger and Maria Seidenadler von Radstadt.1 Accordin to Moot's (Margaret M. Humes) Genealogy:

Gertrude Mary Geyerstanger married Karl Rudolph Schultz, son of Karl Rudolph Schultze and Sophia Wilhelmena Süssekind, in 1857.3 Gertrude Mary Geyerstanger was found on a passenger list on 23 January 1857; having arrived in New York City from Bremen, Germany. Gertrude, age 32 years, and Karl, age 31 years, appeared on the US Census of 1860 at Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.4 Gertrude, age 42 years, and Karl, age 41 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.5 Gertrude Mary Geyerstanger died on 30 January 1879 at Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at age 51.3,2 She was buried at Saint Marys Cemetery, Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.2
Gertrude brought a mystery boy with her from Germany and intended to travel to Chicago to stay with her brother, NAME. He was Editor of the German paper and subsequently died in the Chicago fire. On the way she stopped in Latrobe, PA to visit her other brother, Fr. Charles Geyerstanger, who was the first Benedictine priest ordained in US at St. Vincent's in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. On her way there she met C.R. Schultz at St. Vincent. He was a Luthern convert and was friendly with the priests/monks. She did not continue on to Chicago, but stayed in Latrobe and married C.R.Schultz. The "mystery boy" turned out to be Gertrude's illigetimate son, Anthony Geyerstanger Schultz, who died in Denver, CO and is buried in Latrobe, PA.
