     David Fleck was born on 27 February 1793 at Sinking Valley, Blair County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Johann George Fleck and Anna Maria Weeks.

David Fleck married Mary Ramey, daughter of Francis Ramey and Maria Katherine Ginter, in 1819.1,2,4 Per the Genealogy.com obit of Harry S Fleck the grandson of David:
David Fleck, grandfather of Prof. Fleck, was born February 27, 1793, was reared on the pioneer farm and when he succeeded to the paternal estate, continued his father's industrial activities. At that time one of the chief drawbacks to agricultural success as a-business was the lack of transportation, and David Fleck found his nearest market at Lewiston, where the mill was also situated, a whole week being required to make the trip, with a two-wheel cart, back and forth. At certain seasons he loaded his four-horse wagon with farm produce and covered the whole distance to Baltimore, Md., returning with necessary supplies.

This must be wagon David used to go to Baltimore. It was sold to the Heinz museum in Pittsburg by Dorothy and Frank Fleck the last Fleck owners of the George Fleck
farm.3

He, age 56 years, appeared as head of household on the census of 1850 at Tyrone Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania.6 David was a farmer in 1850.6 He, age 66 years, appeared as head of household on the census of 1860 at Tyrone Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania.7 David was a farmer in 1860.7

David Fleck, age 71, married Keziah Stewart, daughter of Alexander Stewart and Mercy Irwin, on 26 January 1865 at Londonderry Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.1,8 David Fleck, age 76 years, appeared as head of household on the census of 1870 at Tyrone Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania.9 According to the Federal Census in 1870, David was a retired farmer.9 He died on 27 August 1870 at Sinking Valley, Blair County, Pennsylvania, at age 77.1,2,3,4 He was buried on 7 September 1870 at Saint Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Tyrone Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania.3
