     Robert Garber Lindsay was born on 18 September 1828 at Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania.2,1,3 He was the son of Frederick Lindsay and Catherine Stustman.1

Robert Garber Lindsay, age 24, married Catherine Gardner, age 27 on 1 March 1853 at Londonderry Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.4 Robert, age 51 years, and Catherine, age 53 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 on 60 Walnut Street, Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania.5 According to the Federal Census in 1880, Robert was a brick mason.5 On 23 September 1895, he was stricken by a stroke while working in the law office of Oliver H. Hewit. His right side was paralized. On 27 November 1895, he suffered a second stroke which fully incapacitated him.3 He died on 24 December 1895 at home on Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania, at age 67.2,1,3 Robert's obituary reads:
