John Augur was born on 16 November 1686 at East Haven, Connecticut.1 He was the son of Robert Augur and Mary Guilbert. John was granted land on 25 February 1709 at East Haven, Connecticut, consisting of a half division of land of 2¼ acres.2 John was a shoemaker.2
