     James Latham was born on 2 June 1658 at Bridgewater, Plymouth Colony.1,2,3 He was the son of Robert Latham and Susanna Winslow.

James Latham married Deliverance Alger, daughter of Thomas Alger and Elizabeth Packard, in 1693.4,5,6,3 From the General Sessions, September 1705, begun 18 September:
Complaint agains Benjamin Leach, by John Hayward: stealing 1"a considerable quantitie of board of his from Setuckett Sawwmill ." Deft. pleaded that "he was emplyed to doe what he did by James Latham." Latham appeared and pleaded that "the boards , which Benjamin Leach carried to the landing place for Setuckett Mill were his boards and canied by his order." The Jury verdict, not guilty. Deft. dismissed.7


James Latham died in 1738 at East Bridgewater, Massachusetts.1,8,9,10 His estate was administered on 8 February 1738/39 at Plymouth County, Massachusetts.11,12 He was buried at Old Graveyard, East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, section B, grave #244. The stone was erected in 1848 by William Latham, a descendant. James's epitaph reads:
