François Haché dit Gallant was born circa 1707 at Beaubassin, Acadia, New France.1,2,3 He was the son of Michel Haché dit Gallant and Anne Cormier. In the 1714 Census, François was recorded living in Beaubassin, Colony of Nova Scotia.3 Françoismoved to Harbor of Tracadie, St-Pierre-du-Nord, Île Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward's Island), New France, in 1727.4 In the 1734 Census, François was recorded, age 27, living in Port-LaJoie, Île Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward's Island), New France.3
