     Marie-Josèphe Bourg was born on 16 December 1724 at Annapolis Royal, Colony of Nova Scotia.1 She was the daughter of Joseph Bourg and Louise Robichaud.2 Marie-Josèphe Bourg was christened on 18 December 1724 at Annapolis Royal, Colony of Nova Scotia. Her godparents were Alexandre Robuchaux, grandfather of Marie Joseph Bourk and Marie Breuil, wife of Abraham Bourk.1

Marie-Josèphe Bourg, age 20, married Joseph Savoie, age 27 , son of Germain Savoie and Geneviève Babineau, on 6 February 1745. Witnesses were Pierre Savoye, Aman Savoye, Joseph Bourg and Joseph Lanoue. There was a dispensation for 4-4 consanguinity.2,1

Joseph and Marie Josèphe and their family escaped deportation by taking refuge in Camp Espérance in Miramichi. They were present there in 1756-1757. In 1760, the family ended up in Restigouche, New Brunswick (Joseph died before the 1760 census). The family remained a refugee in New Brunswick after 1760 according to S. White.1
