     Pierre Poirier was born in 1711 at Beaubassin, Acadia, New France.1 He was the son of Michel Poirier dit de France and Marie Chiasson.1

Pierre Poirier married Louise Caissie, daughter of Michel Caissie dit Roger and Madeleine Gaudet, on 25 October 1733 at Beaubassin, Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America.1 In the 1752 US Census, Pierre was recorded, age 42, living in La Roche, Bay Egmont, St. John's Island (now Prince Edward Island), Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America. He was listed as a ploughman.1 Pierre and Louise held their land upon verbal permission from Messieurs Duchambon and Dubuisson. On it, they have made a clearing and sown fourteen bushels of wheat, two bushels of peas, and have fallow land for the sowing of twenty-four bushels.1 He died on 27 October 1760 at Basilique Sainte-Trinité, Cherbourg, Manche, Normandy, France.1
