     Samuel Eddy was born on 14 August 1701 at Watertown, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Samuel Eddy and Elizabeth Woodward.

Samuel Eddy, age 25, married Elizabeth Bellows, age 25 , daughter of Deacon John Bellows and Hannah Newton, on 30 January 1727 at Marlbourough, Massachusetts.3,1,4,5 Soon after his marriage, Samuel sold his holdings in Watertown to his brother, Ebenezer, and he and his wife, joined his brother, John, in Oxford, Massachusetts, living in that part which later became Auburn. Neither Samuel, nor Elizabeth, could read or write as all deeds are signed by a mark.3,1 Samuel Eddy died on 4 August 1762 at Oxford, Massachusetts, at age 60.3,1
