Captian Samuel Eddy was born on 31 July 1738.1,2,3 He was the son of Samuel Eddy and Elizabeth Bellows. He marched to the alarm for the relief of Fort William Henry in company of Capt. Davis during the French and Indian War from 10 August 1757 to 18 August 1757.1
Captian Samuel Eddy, age 21, married Susannah Meriam, age 23 , daughter of Lt. Joshua Meriam and Susannah Gleason, on 13 March 1760. He kept a Public House.1 Samuel wrote his will on 5 January 1793.1,2 He died on 4 July 1798 at Auburn, Massachusetts, at age 59.1,2,4
