     Elizabeth Bellows was born on 12 February 1700/1 at Marlbourough, Massachusetts.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Deacon John Bellows and Hannah Newton.

Elizabeth Bellows, age 25, married Samuel Eddy, age 25 , son of Samuel Eddy and Elizabeth Woodward, on 30 January 1727 at Marlbourough, Massachusetts.4,1,2,3 Soon after his marriage, Samuel sold his holdings in Watertown to his brother, Ebenezer, and he and his wife, joined his brother, John, in Oxford, Massachusetts, living in that part which later became Auburn. Neither Samuel, nor Elizabeth, could read or write as all deeds are signed by a mark.4,1 On 30 August 1762, she refused to administer the estate of her husband.1
