Vladimir II Monomachus ~ Grand Prince of Kiev was born in 1053.1,2,3 He was the son of Wsevolod I ~ Grand Prince of Kiev and Maria Monomacha.
Vladimir II Monomachus ~ Grand Prince of Kiev married Gytha of Wessex ~ Princess of England, daughter of Harold II Godwinsson and Edith, circa 1070.4,5,1,2,3 Vladimir was crowned the King of Kiev in 1076.4 In 1077, he became the Prince of Smolensk and a year later, he became the Prince of Tschernigow. The same year, 1078, he became the Grand Prince of Kiev.1 He died on 19 May 1125.4,5,1,2,3 He was buried at Kiev, Ukraine.1
