     Amanda Jane Clark was born in 1832 at Hermon, Maine.1,2 She was the daughter of Richard Lancaster Clark and Lucinda Thompson. Amanda Jane Clark was also known as Jane.

Amanda Jane Clark married Benjamin J. Carter, son of Benjamin Briscoe Carter Jr. and Charlotte M. Curtis. Amanda Jane Clarkappeared on the US Census of 1850 in the household of Richard Lancaster Clark and Lucinda Thompson at Hermon, Maine.3

Amanda Jane Clark married James M. Mayhew, son of William Thomas Mayhew and Faith Smith Flagg, in 1856 at Hermon, Maine.
