Charles and Hattie (Blanchard) Parents
     Charles Frederick Parents was born on 20 April 1848 at Amherst, Massachusetts.2,3,4,5,6 He was the son of Joseph Joel Parents and Betsy McNall.1 Charles Frederick Parentsappeared on the US Census of 1850 in the household of Joseph Joel Parents and Betsy McNall at Amherst, Massachusetts.7 Charles Frederick Parents appeared on the Massachusetts State Census of 1855 in the household of Joseph Joel Parents and Betsy McNall at Pelham, Massachusetts.8

Charles Frederick Parents, age 23, married Harriet Francelia Blanchard, age 23 , daughter of Lyman William Blanchard and Angeline H. Goodell, on 6 March 1872.3,1,9 Charles, age 31 years, and Harriet, age 31 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Amherst, Massachusetts.10 According to the Federal Census in 1880, Charles was a farm laborer.10 19 February 1890, Charles was appointed a trustee of the newly formed Eagle Lodge of the New England Order of Protection at Amherst, Massachusetts.11 He, age 51 years, appeared as head of household on the census of 1900 at 20 Belchertown Road, Amherst, Massachusetts.3 According to the Federal Census in 1900, Charles was an engineer in a hat shop.3 He, age 61 years, appeared as head of household on the census of 1910 at 20 Belchertown Road, Amherst, Massachusetts.12 According to the Federal Census in 1910, Charles was an odd job laborer.12 He died on 28 February 1918 at Amherst, Massachusetts, at age 69.2,13,6 He was buried at West Cemetery, Amherst, Massachusetts. Charles's epitaph reads:
