     Joseph Many was born on 4 July 1816 at Chambly, Lower Canada, British North America.1,2,3 He was christened on 5 July 1816 at St-Joseph-de-Chambly Paroisse, Chambly, Lower Canada, British North America.4,5,6,3 He was the son of Joseph Many and Louise Lamoureux.

Joseph Many, age 24, married Geneviève Jetté, age 19 , daughter of Antoine Jetté and Marie-Josephte Cognac, on 19 January 1841 at Montréal, Québec, Canada. Their marriage contract was notorized by Basile Laroque.7,5,1,6 Joseph Many appeared as Head of Household on the Canadian Census of 1851 at Chambly, Québec, Canada.8 Joseph, age 44 years, and Geneviève, age 39 years , appeared on the Canadian Census of 1861 at Saint-Luc, Québec, Canada.9 Joseph was a farmer in 1861.9 He appeared as Head of Household on the Canadian Census of 1871 at Sainte-Luce, Québec, Canada.10 According to the Canadian Census in 1871, Joseph was a farmer.10
