Sarah Jones was born on 6 August 1779 at Milford, Massachusetts.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Jonathan Jones and Mary Wood. Sarah Jones was also known as Sally.1
Sarah Jones, age 16, married Deacon Daniel Ward, age 21 , son of Deacon Nehemiah Ward and Sarah Whitney, on 20 October 1795.4,5,6,7 Sally, age 70 years, and Daniel, age 75 years, appeared on the US Census of 1850 at Orange, Massachusetts.8 Sally Ward, age 32 years, appeared on the Massachusetts State Census of 1855 in the household of Edwin Daniel Ward and Margette E. Ward at Orange, Massachusetts.9 Sally Wardappeared on the US Census of 1860 in the household of Caleb Mayo and Mary Wheeler Mayo at Orange, Massachusetts.10 Sally Ward died on 14 October 1862 at Orange, Massachusetts, at age 83 from consumption.2,11,12 She was buried at Jones Cemetery, Orange, Massachusetts. Sarah's epitaph reads:
