Francis Gallagher

     Francis Gallagher was born in March 1845 at Pennsylvania.¹ He was the son of Michael Gallagher and Mary Degnan. Francis Gallagher went by the nick-name of Frank. Francis, age 6, appeared on the US Census of 1850 living at Choconut Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Michael and Mary Gallagher.² Francis, age 16, appeared on the US Census of 1860 in the household of his grand-parents, Michael and Ann Gallagher; Their son, Michael, and his family lived with them.³

Francis Gallagher married Anna Elizabeth Donovan, daughter of Malachy Donovan and Honora Murphy, in 1873.¹ Francis, age 29 years, and Anna, age 20 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1875 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.⁴ Frank, age 34 years, and Anna, age 25 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 on 145 Oak Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York.⁵ According to the Federal Census in 1880, Frank was a clerk in a store.⁵ Frank, age 54 years, and Anna, age 45 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 on 235 Oak Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York.¹ According to the Federal Census in 1900, Frank was a day laborer.¹ Francis, age 59 years, and Anna, age 50 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1905 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.⁶ Frank, age 64 years, and Anna, age 55 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 on 235 Oak Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York.⁷ Frank Gallagher died on 8 April 1911 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York, at age 66.^8,9 Francis was buried at Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City, Broome County, New York.⁸
