     Anna Elizabeth Donovan was born on 3 October 1854 at Broome County, New York.1,2 She was the daughter of Malachy Donovan and Honora Murphy. Anna Elizabeth Donovan, age 47 years, appeared on the US Census of 1865 in the household of Malachy Donovan and Honora Murphy at Maine, Broome County, New York.3 Anna, age 15 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York. She was a domestic servant with the St. John family.4

Anna Elizabeth Donovan married Francis Gallagher, son of Michael Gallagher and Mary Degnan, in 1873.1 Anna, age 20 years, and Francis, age 29 years, appeared on the US Census of 1875 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.5 Anna, age 25 years, and Frank, age 34 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 at 145 Oak Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York.6 Anna, age 45 years, and Frank, age 54 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at 235 Oak Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York.1 Anna, age 50 years, and Francis, age 59 years, appeared on the US Census of 1905 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.7 Anna, age 55 years, and Frank, age 64 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at 235 Oak Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York.8 Anna, age 60 years, and Bridget, age 65 years, appeared on the US Census of 1915 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.9 Anna lived in 1917 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York, In 1917, she was living with her son, Aloysius, at 15 Lathrop Avenue, Binghamton, New York. She was a widow. Anna, age 65 years, and Bridget, age 70 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 at 235 Oak Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York.10 Anna, age 70 years, appeared on the US Census of 1925 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.11 Anna, age 75 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 at 37 Chestnut Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York. She was a widow.12 Anna, age 85 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 at 37 Chestnut Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York.13 She died on 25 March 1943 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York, at age 88.2,14 Anna's obituary of 26 March 1943, reads:

MRS. ANN GALLAGHER

Mrs. Ann Gallagher, 89, mother of A. t. Gallagher of Scranton, vice president of Atlantic Division of the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company, died yesterday afternoon at ! her home in Binghamton, N. Y, following a lingering illness. Besides her son, she is survived by the following other children: L. P. Gallagher of Binghamton; Patrick Gallagher of New York, and a daughter, Mrs. Julia Davern of White Plains, N. Y.


She was buried at Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City, Broome County, New York.2
