Nicholas Burg was born on 16 August 1853 at Differten (now Wadgassen), Saarland, Germany.1,2,3 He was the son of Georg Burg and Maria Burg.
Nicholas Burg, age 25, married Katharina Schemel, age 20 , daughter of Jacob Schemel and Anna Rupp, on 27 May 1879 at Differten (now Wadgassen), Saarland, Germany.1,2,3 Nicholas Burg and Katharina Schemel immigrated in 1881 to the United States arriving in New York City in 22 September 1881 on board the SS Belgenland, from Antwerp, Belgium.1,4 Nicholas Burg was naturalized before 1900.1 Nicholas, age 46 years, and Katharina, age 41 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at Ridge Road, Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.1 According to the census in 1900, Nicholas was a coal miner.1 He died in 1905 at Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
