     François Chiasson was born circa 1697 at Beaubassin, Acadia, New France.1,2 He was the son of Gabriel Chiasson dit Pierre and Marie Savoie.

François Chiasson married Anne Doucet, age 19 , daughter of Claude Doucet dit Maître Jean and Marie Comeau, on 3 November 1722 at St-Jean-Baptiste Paroisse, Annapolis Royal, Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America.1,3,2 François and Annemoved to Île Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward's Island), New France, circa 1727.2 François Chiasson appeared as head of household on the census of 1752 at Anse-aux-Sauvages, Île Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward's Island), New France. François Chiasson, ploughman, native of l'Acadie, aged 60 years, he has been 25 years in the country. Married to Anne Dousset, native of l'Acadie, aged 48 years. François was found on a passenger list arriving in Saint-Malo, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France, in 1759 having departed Île St.-Jean in 1758.1,2 He died on 14 February 1759 at Saint-Servan, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France.1,2 He was buried on 14 February 1759 at Saint-Servan, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France.1
