     Sidney Henry Smith was born on 16 August 1917 at Lowell, Massachusetts.3,4,5 He was the son of Donald Smith and Annie MacDougal.2 Sidney Henry Smithappeared on the Census of 1920 in his late wife's parent's home the with his widowed father, Donald Smith, on 157 Meadowcraft Street, Lowell, Massachusetts.6 In 1930, he was recorded on the 1930 Census, age 12, in the household of his grandparents, James and Sarah MacDougal on 169 Meadowcroft Street, Lowell, Massachusetts.7

Sidney Henry Smith, age 21, married Janice Mary Woodman, age 19 , daughter of Harry Lincoln Woodman and Ruth Esther Ward, in February 1939 at Lowell, Massachusetts.1,8,9 Sidney, age 22 years, and Janice, age 20 years , appeared on the US Census of 1940 on 7 Bagley Street, Lowell, Massachusetts.10 Sidney was a musician in 1940.10 Sidney registered for the draft giving his address as 7 Bagley Avenue, Lowell, Massachusetts, his age as 23, and his employer as the New American Hotel on 16 October 1940.5 1944, Sidney joined the Star Lodge of the Masons.4 He died on 2 March 1947 at Cheney Street, Orange, Massachusetts, at age 29 by suicide in the living room of his' home by holding a single barrel 12-gauge shotgun against his face and manipulating the trigger with a part of a fishing rod.2,3,4 He was buried at Tully Cemetery, Orange, Massachusetts.3
