     Margaret , Countess of Hainault and Flanders was born on 2 June 1202 at Constantinople (now Istanbul), Empire of the East.1 She was the daughter of Baldwin VI , Count of Hainaut and Latin Emperor of Constantinople and Marie of Champagne , Empress of Constantinople. She was the heiress of Hainault and Flanders.1

Margaret , Countess of Hainault and Flanders married Sir Bouchard d'Avêsnes, son of Jacques d'Avêsnes , Seigneur d'Avêsnes, Leuze, Conde and Guise and Adele de Guise, before July 1212.1,2,3 Margaret and Bouchard were divorced in 1221.1 Margaret , Countess of Hainault and Flanders died on 10 February 1280 at age 77.1,2,3
